Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

against my will I was stipulated to

The day before and the morning of my trial my lawyer asked me if I would plead guiltyin family court. I told him I am not pleading guilty to something I am not guilty of. He walked right strait into court and stated she stipulates your honot. I jumped up and shouted no I am not and the commissioner told me to sit down and be quiet you have a lawyer speak thru him. My lawyer ignored me and the charges stood. My question is do I have a legal leg to stand on.

Re: against my will I was stipulated to

First of all, there is no pleading guilty in family court. Second of all, if you are still represented by legal counsel no other attorney should discuss your case with you without the permission of your existing legal counsel. You may terminate the representation by writing your lawyer a letter, and you should also request your file. Once you have done this you may contact another attorney and disucuss yor case and your options. Be warned that there are attorneys who do not follow the rules of ethics as they should, and you should avoid those attorneys.
