X-Spouses Pension-Retirement Rights

I believe I am entitled to a portion of my former spouses pension-retire- ment.I am now getting court ordered alimony.How do I go about getting my portion of his pension- retirement?

Did you have an attorney represent you in the divorce? Your rights to a share of your husband's retirement benefits should have been determined and dealt with at that time. Check your Court Order, and see whether or not a QDRO was ever signed by the Judge. If not, you may have a claim against your divorce attorney for professional negligence. If you were not represented in the divorce, this is an expensive way to learn that you should have been.
