Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Four years ago, I petitioned the court in MO. to have a public administrator become the guardian of my disabled half sister.I did this to prevent her son from cutting her off from all of her friends and family and possibly harming her. He has had no contact with her since May of 2007. I now want to bring her to Tennessee (where I live). Do I have to petition the court to gain custody and does this require hiring an attorney?

Under that facts you described, you would have to PEttion the Court to allow the transfer to Tennesee, and/or for you to become her successor guardian. Either action would have to be done through an attorney.

Good luck
