Was there a written contract between you and your ex-boyfriend? Did you sign a contract to purchase the house? Is your name on the deed? If so, then you probably own the house with him as "tenants in common", although the wording on the deed would control. If you own the houe together with him, you have the same rights to be in the house as he does.In any event, the statutes provide a procedure where you could sue in partition to get a Court Order requiring the sale of the house and a division of any sales proceeds. These lawsuits can be somewhat expensive, but you put yourself in this situation. Hire an attorney.

You may have rights depending on what the contract and deed say about your status. If all you did was contribute money, and you did not sign or obligate yourself on loan documents, you are probably better off learning a lesson and moving on. However, if you are on the documents, you are bound to pay for the house if the boyfriend doesnt. If it were me, I'd hire a lawyer and have him investigate.

Good luck
