Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Missouri

Civil: invasion of privacy?

I recently joined a gym. While enrolling the staff member asked me several questions about my needs, etc. During this time, they gathered where I lived, worked, who I was in a relationship with, etc. I never thought about the fact that I was under surveillance and that my conversation was taped. Apparently, they club shared my surveillance tape with another club client and showed them my whole video. This is a girl who has been harassing me, and has been causing problems in my personal life. It has caused me nothing but stress. Did the club invade my privacy by sharing my information with a third party? And would this be grounds for a civil suit?

Re: Civil: invasion of privacy?

Most businesses have privacy practices outlined in policy. It would certainly appear to be a violation of your privacy. Whether it would be grounds for a lawsuit would depend on the level of your damages. You should see an attorney and get some help evaluating if you should pursue this matter.
