Is it possible in the state of Missouri to file small claims to recover an engagement ring that never progressed to a wedding.

It is possible to either get the ring back or get compensation for the ring. Small claims court is probably not the best way to acheive this, though because it is hard, if not impossible to collect on a small claims court judgment against an individual. Your best shot would be to hire an attorney get the ring/ money back for you. An attorney can handle the lawsuit if one is needed and (most important) collect on the judgment (get the ring/money).
