Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Missouri
A friend got into some legal trouble when she cashed stolen checks for a friend. she did not know they were stolen but she signed it and took it t her bank so she's responsible. after four checks of 500 she owed the bank 2000. i had just got 2000 dollars from my mother for a car and she asked to borrow it, as a friend i agreed and let her BORROW my money. her and her grandma said they would pay me back as soon as they got there next paychecks so i didnt mind. but after 7 months of not seeing anything but 20 dollars. i started to get angry and ask about my money and they denied ever being loaned money and oweing me any money. however i have text messages and a video of her sayin she owes me money. how do i go about getting my money back?

It may be time to file suit for the payment of the loan. You have to be willing to go to trial. but sometimes the mere filing will spur a debtor to start making their payments. If you need referrals for an attorney to represent you, you may email me. But, the amount of debt is low enough that you could file a small claims case without an attorney,. You coudl also hire an attoney to help you draft your small claims petition.
