legal credit checks

I petition the court for a breach of contract to repay a loan. In January of 2001, court found in my favor and instructed the defendant to repay monies owed to me plus accrued interest.

He refuses to pay back any of the money and is violating a court order.

I have been told the only recourse I may have is to have his wages garnished. The only problem is, I don't know where he is employed. He has been dodging me for 2 years. there is a web sit by Experian where I can get a free credit report. A credit report will give me his current employer. I have his ssn, legal name, address, so my question is this. Since I do have his ssn, can I legaling obtain a credit report on him?

No.

You cannot do that.

The best way to handle this situation is to use a skip-tracing company to locate the man, or have a PI do it for you. Private Investigators cost money, but are worth it.

You can also attach any asset he has, including a car, if you know he has one. There are lots of ways to collect a debt like this. Ask the PI to check for assets.
