Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Missouri

To make a long story short I loaned several thousand dollars to an individual on a promissory note and he gave me bad collateral and he knew it, his attorney was present and did the paper work because I wanted as legal as possible, so his attorney made the bill of sale for some equipment and deeds to property, so when i went to collect this stuff it all liens. I failed to mention before I sued him that he written me a check for the total payment of the loans but he put a stop payment on the check. I sued he never even showed up in court therefore I received a default judgement against him, the problem is he has hid everything so there nothing to get. What else can I do? Can I get him for defrauding me by falsifying documents to purportedly show he had thousands of dollars worth of collateral? Can I get him prosecuted?

Some folks can collect judgments on their own. It appears that you have gone as far as your can on your own. You need a professional to pursue this debt. In addition to the judgmetn collectio, you may be able to pursue the attorney who drafted the documents for you two. You may also pursue teh check and get statutory damages.

Good luck
