Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Missouri

Public Records - Distributing to Others...

I have obtained a copy of someones court records where they were proscecuted for 26 charges - battery & delinquency of minors. Will I be breaking the law in any way if I give copies to others? Family, friends, his current employer? These are from the court house stamped as certified copies, they are public records.

I suppose it depends on how you define trouble. I doubt that there are legal charges that could be filed, although if you get him fired he could potentially claim you interfered in his employment. Under the circumstances, he would likely not win such a fight.

Someone convicted of violent crimes, however, is not the kind of person I would pick a fight with, and I would opt for anonymous rather than direct communication with interested parties.

Good luck
