Punched in Face

I was punched in the face at a bar (I was drunk and so was the guy that hit me) have no idea why he hit me but its on tape from the bar and the police officer said that the guy has admitted to it and all the tape shows is him punching me in the face and then leaving. I have had stiches inside and out of my mouth and there will be a good scar. This happend to me 5 years ago almost same situtaion and I decided to only try to get my medical bills paid for. After having a noticble scar on my face for 5 years I know now not to make that mistake. How to I approach this if im seeking more money than medical costs this time?
