Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Missouri

I purchased a registered animal through a sale barn in 2010. I then contacted the previous owners to have her registration papers transferred to me. They wanted to charge me an extra 300 dollars for the papers and for the hauling fee to get her to the sale barn (I didn't have intention to buy the animal until I saw her at the barn). The association will not transfer the animal to me even with a bill of sale from the barn identifying the animal and with verification from the sellers that the animal had been sold and is no longer in their possession. Is there anything I can do?

Ask the barn fora refund, unless they had you waive their warranties. That should prmpt them to do the eork. If they don't, then you might be able to sue the previous owner for the present market value of the animal. But, before you do either, consult directly with a civil practice attorney in your area. Get advice specific to the facts and documents relevant to this transaction.
