Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Missouri
ticket for malicous destruction of property
My 17 y/o son was given a ticket for the above titled. He says he turned around a little bit on the grass near a skate park and some other teen called the law and stated he was driving in the grass. The police stopped him and gave him a ticket for malicious destruction of property. I viewed the area but only found small area of tire marks. How would this be malicious? My son wants to get a lawyer and fight this ticket. Need help. Thanks. Liz E.

Re: ticket for malicous destruction of property
Police have a tremendous amount of discretion in writing tickets. Obviously, you son does not wnat to take a conviction on this charge. Depending upon what court is handling this case, I might be able to offer to provide representation. I have handled many similar cases over the thirty plus years I hve been practicing law. If I am not able to help your son myself, I might be able to refer you to someone who can. Please feel free to contact me at my office.
