Legal Question in Immigration Law in Missouri

arreste for driving with suspend license

In the spring of 2007 i was arrested 2 times for driving while suspended and 6 months latter i was arrested for not paying my seat belt ticket( forgot to pay it in time) how is this going to be seen by the green card interviewer ? is it considered a petty offense or not .Is any ground based on these violations to be denied ? I had my green card interview a week a go , but at the end of the interview we (me and my wife)haven't been told anything just that we will receive an answer in the mail box.I didn't know what to think of it and here I am trying to break a little the mystery. thank u for your time

Re: arreste for driving with suspend license

Were these for traffic infractions or actual criminal convictions? They don't sound like the type of convictions that would render you inadmissible as a lawful permanent resident; however, all depends on the interviewer. I don't think you will have a problem if you explained the circumstances at the interview -- were you represented by counsel (an attorney) at the interview? You should have been; on the other hand, if your responses were credible and the interviewing officer didn't feel you were trying to hide something, you will be fine. Please let my office know if everything worked out okay for you. Just let my assistant know that you quieried on lawguru concerning the suspended license and green card interview. I will know who you are. Good luck!
