My husband is a legal immigrant in the US. If we get divorced before he becomes an US citizen,will he be sent back to his country

If he obtained his legal permanent residence through his marriage to you, and he has no conditions on his residence, then dissolution of your marriage should not affect his ability to naturalize.

If he obtained his legal permanent residence other than through marriage, dissolution is irrelevant.
