Marrying a Non US Citizen

My girlfriend is from Panama and has a resident visa for the US. I am divorced and want to marry her and bring her here with her daughter. She is divorces as well. What do I need to do in advance so that we won't run into any major issues?

Re: Marrying a Non US Citizen

Your description is unclear - by "resident visa" do you mean that she is a U.S. lawful permanent resident? If so, there are certain issues that she would need to be aware of regarding stays outside the U.S. for an extended period of time. Also, was her daughter born in the U.S.?

If you would like to discuss these issues, please feel free to contact me.

I'm not sure what you mean about your girlfriend having a "resident visa" for the US. This would be helpful in determining what you would need to do in order to start the process of bringing her and her daughter to the US. Another factor is whether or not you are a US citizen yourself. I would be glad to discuss these issues with you in person if you are in the St. Louis area. Please feel free to call me or email me directly. Thanks
