I hit a horse
While driving within the speed limit on a country road. A loose horse jumped in front of my car. My car was totaled. The horse was killed. Someone left the barn door open. My car was totaled. Whose insurance should pay for my car and medical bills. My insurance, or the horse owners property insurance?
and how do I know they are being fair?

Re: I hit a horse
If the facts are as you describe, the horse owner's insurance should pay for your damages. However, this is usually an issue between insurance carriers. You need to report the accident to your carrier.
