Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Missouri

Software Royalties

I created a educational software program in 1995 as a joint venture with Company A. The contract stated that I would retain rights to the technology and they would retain rights to the video and other content. I would also be paid royalties for every sale made. After a few years Company A sold the business to Company B. Several months later, Company B went out of business. Now, several years later I discover that Company A started up the business again and have been selling the software program since 2002. I have not recieved any royalties for any of these sales.

Please let me know where I stand and what options I may have. I'm having a hard time financially right now and could really use any moneys that may be due me.

Hopefully, this could be resolved by a letter asking for an accounting and the back royalties. The tough part for your situation is the lack of resources to vindicate your legal rights if the nice way fails.
