As a Franchise Attorney I can say that virtually every franchise company (and a large number that are not franchised) have a unique business model in some respect. Depending on the business model in question, and the set of intellectual property assets that comprise the model, different IP protections are available and should be utilized. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney for specific advice.
