Can I be fired if my employer states that I mislead them about things not pertaining to work?

Unless they are doing so for a prohibited discriminatory reason, your employer can end your employment for the reason you mentioned. Missouri is basically at will employment. Unless you have an employment contract, you do not have to give two week notice and they don't either.
