Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Missouri
Are court cost the same thing as attorney fees? I'm talking about from a lease of an apartment. Can they claim you owe attorney fees from eviction process if your lease only states court costs?

Court costs are generally the filing fee and the cost to have the Summons served (through a deputy or process server). Attorney fees are what they say, the attorney's bill. If your lease agreement does not state attorney fees, then they are not owed. A defendant should deny that they owe attorney fees, and the judge will make the Plaintiff 's attorney prove that they are. If the defendant defaults, the judge will usually grant them without proof.
Good luck
