Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Missouri
Disclosure of Flood Hazard
I asked my landlord if there were any substantial problems with the property and he stated ''No, never had a problem.'' but the apartment was in an area of special flood hazard and I was electrocuted in a flash flood two weeks later. Is it illegal for a landlord to not disclose flood hazard in order to gain a new tenant?

Re: Disclosure of Flood Hazard
If the property had never flooded before and the landlord had no knowledge of the flood danger, then likely he would have had no duty to warn. You probably want to find out if he did know.
Electrocution is a severe injury. If the landlord has the property insured, and I assume he does, you should consider asking the landlord for the name of the insurer and should consider filing a claim with them.
Alternatively, you could find a good personal injury lawyer to help you pursue this claim.
