Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Missouri
My father has come down with some serious medical issues and is no longer able to live on his own. I live in Kansas City and he lives in St. Louis. I need him to move closer so I can care for him. His lease is not up until July. Are there laws allowing him to move out without having to pay to break his lease? What options do we have?

Start with the written lease to see if there are any clauses that refer to early termination. Then go to the landlord ( with the med records) often landlords have a heart in these situations. He might have to forfeit his deposit, or pay a month or two. But, if they demand payment of all rent till July, he might be able to similar bids unit. You might encourage him to consult directly with a landlord tenant on his area. Many offer a free or low cost initial consultation.
Good luck
