Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Missouri

We are in a lease for our apartment and were told you could legally break your lease if you are buying a home. Is this true? We live in Missouri

Many landlords allow tenants to terminate their lease if they are purchasing a home. There is not requirement that they do so, if the written lease agreement is silent on the issue. In such a situation, the tenant should assist the landlord with getting the apartment cleaned and relet.
