Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Missouri

I noticed my lease requires a 60 day notice to vacate, and may be automatically renewed on a month to month basis in the event resident fails to provide timely written notice of intent to vacate at the expiration data of the lease. The standard lease terms (separate document) provide for liquidated damages equal to two months rent if I fail to provide 60 days notice.

I just became aware of this today, with ~50 days left on my lease term and sent them a notice to vacate. Can they charge me a full two months rent in liquidated damages?

Based upon the facts you described, the landlord may be able to extend the lease one month past the natural termination of the lease.

Good luck
