Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Missouri
Can my older brother throw me out of the house that he bought for our parents before they passed? If so what are the guidlines? I moved here in 1999 to take care of our mother. I am penniless and almost homeless. I am living in my moms house that my brother bought for them 31 years ago. Mom just passed away 11-4-09. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The house in located in Dunklin County, Missouri.
Thank you,
James W. Gist

The owner of the house can evict those who are living on the property, But, he cannot just put their things out o fhte house. If the tenant doe snto leave voluntarily he must bring an unlawful detainer action to legally evict a resident.
Good luck
