getting out of a rent to own

my landlord took our car title to hold until we could put a down payment on the trailer we are living in. he just recently changed the down payment to 4000 which was 2500. the trailer is falling apart and needs a lot of work. we want out of the deal and need our title back. we found out the trailer is not worth13000.

I suggest you hire an attorney. If you gave him the title, without signing anything, he can be compelled to return it. However, if you've signed something, then there may be other more serious issues involved.

I would recommend you contact an attorney right away to find out what your rights are.
