Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Missouri

I am renting a house and had a roommate that was not on the lease. We had a month to month verbal agreement. Problems arose and she was given 30 days to vacate the property. After I gave her that notice, she vandalized some things in my house and chose to leave immediately. However, she has not come to get her things. It has been almost 60 days and she still has not made arrangements. When is her property considered abandoned?

In order to pu yher things out, you may need to file an unlawful detainer action. If her stuff is still there, it is hard to say she has vacated the premises, even if she sleeps somewhere else. You can run the risk of throwing her stuff away, but she may be able to come after you later. Have you tried sending her a letter by certified mail, demanding she remove her things?

Good luck
