security deposit

We have a deposit owed to us from January 2006. How long do we have to file suit for this?

The landlord had 30 days to supply you with a refund of the deposit or an itemized statement of what was taken from the deposit. If he has failed to do this you should go immediately and file an action in Small Claims Court for the return of the deposit and under Missouri Law the landlord is required to give you back double the amount.
