i am being serously harassed by a guy i paid rent to however he do not own the property i did make the rent checks out to him i dont know who the owner is i live there for 2 years but i moved 18 days early because i lost my income he knew 3 month before that i would have to move i paid him money in advance for a week into the month, when the first year lease was up he didnt have another for months for me to sign and when he did give me one to sign it was the same least with the date white out now he is calling and text me over and over with not much let up i do have a deposit with this guy he keep saying he would let his so call attorney sue me but he have done so many things wrong i just want this guy to leave me alone can he bind me to a lease that was dated back with the same lease he used before but just white out to a date for a different year please help

If he does nto own the aprtment then you do not owe him any rent unless he can show tath he is the agent of the owner. If he has nto refunded yrou lease wiothin thirty days of you leaving, and has not given you a list of the decudtions he is keeping, you are owed yrou entire deposit back. You may have to sue him to get it.
