Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Missouri
When I signed the lease there was 2 other tenants on the lease with me and the rent was 750$ a month. We were all supposed to pay 250. The other 2 tenants wanted off the lease, they called the landlords "maitenance management people" and got off the lease without signing anything and without having a penalty and without my notice, leaving me to pay the $750 by myself. The actual landlord lives in another state so I've never actually met/talked to him. I contacted the "maitenance management people" and told them that was a problem and I was only going to pay my share of the rent which was 250, they said okay. They recently came up to me and now said "Well, since you dont have any roommates were going to bump the rent up to 400." It's not my problem that I dont have roommates, theyre the ones that let them off the lease scotch free, they should still be paying their part of rent or the penalty. What can I do so that I'm paying only my share of rent?

You should either taek the demand for more rent as an offer to let you out of the lease, and tell the owner that in writing, or sue your former roomates for the extra $150/month you are being forced to pay.
Good luck
