Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Missouri
I used to work in an assisted living community. I left on my own due to having difficulty with the director from being bullied. I have been gone two months but because it is small town and several of the residents are my friends and love me coming around, I go visit once a week. The director sent me a letter telling me that I had to call before coming and can only come when she is in the building. I told her I am just like any guest, which they come and go on their own time frame. Since I am not disruptive and invited in by the guest, can she legally dictate when I can come to visit? I feel it is another way of her bullying me.

If the nursing home is private property, they can deny or alter visits, as they wish. That is, if they aren't doing so based upon race, religion, etc. You may not have grounds to contest your visits being limited. But, the residents might. If they are offended by being limited as to when you can visit, they should consult with an attorney in their area.
