Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in Missouri

I was taken to ER by husband. ER doctor entered into my files that I had "prior history of suicide, violence, psycho hospitalizations, drug and alcohol use" and that I shot my husband with shotgun several times. I was on oxycontin and was withdrawing and doctor did not speak with me as I am deaf. I was admitted to a MENTAL hospital for 30 days whereas they tried to get me to admit to all the above unknown to me I was not aware all this was being entered into my files. When I was released I was upset at the way I was treated. So I got a copy of my medical records. I was so shocked and furious. I contacted the licensing board for doctors thinking it was a doctors error. The licensing board said it was my husband that said those things (he wanted a divorce I later found out). They refused to remove those things from my file. I gave them eight letters of recommendation where I had worked at nuclear power plant for ten years from my bosses. Gave them my high school and college grades showing I was honor student. I was drug tested at nuclear plant routinely. My husband has NEVER been to a doctor for gunshot wounds. Ridiculous. Now those things remain on my medical history. I had at one point advised the doctors NOT to talk to my husband once I realized something was up. The doctor did not talk to my husband but LISTENED to him and wrote everything down that was an outright lie. How can I get those false things out of my medical records? There was another woman in there with same problem. Unfortunately in this day and age mental hospitals remain the same. I had never been in one before and will never be again as I do not trust doctors, medicines or hospitals now. How can I get the false information out of there????

It seems that you have an issue of medical (not lefal) malpractice to explore. You may also need to file suit against your husband, if the statements were knowingly false.

Good luck
