Legal Question in Personal Injury in Missouri
Burned fingers and hand
My family was going to have Stouffers Lasagna last Sunday evening. I went by the directions on the back of box. It said the last 10-15 min gentley remove film cover. Which is what I did, but I took the entire pan over to the trash can to remove the cover, ( I did have a oven mitt on my hand)then I reliazed, that it was hot, and it started to slip out of my hands, I carried it over to the kitchen sink and started screaming for help. I think Stouffers needs to be a little more specific about their directions. Do you take the pan out of the oven to take cover off or do you leave it in the oven? They do say

Re: Burned fingers and hand
Unless you incurred permanent injury from this situation, or paid major medical bills, this is not a case that in most circumstances an attorney would handle. Although the directions are equivocal, Stouffers could not know what the general makeup of your kitchen was.
It could be that their design is inherently dangerous. However, to hire an expert and go to the trouble to prove this, you would need significant damages. Minor burns that did not require medical attention, and that do not produce disfigurement, likely are not going to be sufficient to obtain the size of recovery necessary to justify the expenses of litigation.
I would encourage you to write to the company and explain what happened. In many cases they may offer to compensate you a small amount.
Good luck,
