Legal Question in Personal Injury in Missouri
Corporate Law?
If we have won a monetary Judgement against a person, and they own 30,000 shares of corporate stock (C Corporation) can we get a garnishment (or whatever it's called) against his stock? (if he hasn't transferred it to his wife's name yet) and how do we find out if he has put his 2nd wife's name on the stock or sold it to her? Could he do that AFTER, we get the Judgement?

Re: Corporate Law?
There are two answers: The first one is, "It depends." The second one is, the way to find out is to file a garnishment or attachment against the corporation - that is a formal procedure by which you are able to ask questions of a corporation (or anyone else) about whether they have property belong to the judgment debtor; if they do, and procedures are followed properly, they can be forced to turn the property over to you to satisfy (in whole or in part) your judgment. There are lots of ifs, ands and buts, but that's the rough answer.
