Legal Question in Personal Injury in Missouri

When is the line crossed when feeling threatned.

I have been talking, (I stress only talking), with a girl who is going through a divorce. The father of the girl reset the girls cell phone company password to access her phone bill. I get a phone call, he tells me my name and says he needs to talk to me or visit me in my town which he knows the exact address of, and my truck info. The girl doesn't even know my physical address and she told him nothing about me. He has called twice and left messages both times. The second message stated that I need to stay away from her, she has a husband and two kids. She is ferious, her father invading her privacy, and him calling me to rid of her only friend. I know him accessing her account was illegal, but has he commited a crime against me yet? I feel uncomfortable in my own house now, and I am not willing to take my sympathetic ear away from her. I don't like feeling bullied, and what to know if I can take action against him now before he makes it a physical problem for me. She stated that he said he was wanting to harm me, but I don't want her testomony involved. She is going through enough, and is begging me to not leave her alone in the situation. Her parents are crossing the line because they don't want her to be divorced.

Re: When is the line crossed when feeling threatned.

If he has threatened you physically there is a procedure where you can ask the court to issue an order of protection that requires that he not contact you. If you are seriously in fear of your safety, that is one avenue that is open. You do not need a lawyer to file the action, but you should probably file it in the county where you live.

Good luck.
