Legal Question in Personal Injury in Missouri

Malice- slander

If someone looks up your personal public information using your social security number without your permission and then posts it on bulletin boards to humilate you or force you to do something you don't want to can you have them arrested? Or whatother legal course could I take?

Re: Malice- slander

If they publish your personal information and make you the target of an identity thief you could potentially recover from them in tort. You should probably notify the internet service provider where your information is posted and ask them to take it down since in many states it is unlawful to publish the information.

Slander is telling something about someone that is untrue. If they publish your name address and SSN, that's not slander, its invasion of privacy.

If you can't get anywhere with the ISP, see a lawyer.
