The general rule is Five years, however, the time is shorter, two years, for medical malpractice or work related cases. Injuries that result in death are limited by the three year wrongful death statute. In addition, suits against certain governmental entities, such as certain cities, require that notice be given to the city with in a few weeks of the injury, or a suit later will be barred.
