suite for malicious prosecution

my husband's former wife died in 1997. we were married in 1999. husband's former sister and brother in law were city police officers. thay made false sexual abuse charges against my husband concerning his 4 year old daughter in attempt to gain custody of the child, they went to sex crimes detective friend, which resulted in criminal charges against us both. children were removed from home in february 2001 and placed with accusing relatives. criminal trial held in april 2002 with unanimous ''not guilty'' verdict. cost to us over $150,000, part of which was my inheiritance. also lost job, and status in church community because of satanic accusations, which are in writing. can we recoup some of our losses by suing parties involved?
