Legal Question in Personal Injury in Missouri

While on vacation in Tx. my husband plugged in a lamp with bare wires in a motel and was shocked and had black marks on his hand. His hand tingled for several days afterward. The hotel comped that night and at our request all but a $30 maid fee for the second night of our stay. The thing is that this hotel is right on the beach and had he been wet or our 5-year-old daughter plugged this in, it could have been much worse. Obviously, the lamp was unplugged for some reason and I believe that they knew it was defective and just forgot to remove the lamp. Would we have any kind of case against this hotel?

The hotel is responsible for its negligent acts that caused injury to a guest. Your damages will be measured by what actually happened to your husband, not what could have happened to your daughter. So, if your husband was injured, it may be worth looking into.
