Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri
Abstract of title
Can my daughter's name (an only child) be put on the real estate abstract of title as a transfer to her upon my death? The property has a clear title.

Re: Abstract of title
I do not believe that your sugestion will work because putting someone's name on an abstract of titile is not a transfer of any legal interest in real estate. Assuming that your daughter is an adult you could execute a Beneficiary Deed which would transfer the property to her automatically upon your death if you still own the property, and in the meantime you remain free to use the property, borrow against the property, or even sell the property if you want to. An attorney can take care of this for you for a very modest fee.
