Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

At age 16 can I buy my own car with my name solely on the title (no control from my parents) and can I have my own insurance plan? If not could my friends grandma,(who I live with) co-sign on it or could I just be added to her insurance policy?

You're asking more questions than you realize. No reputable car dealer will make a sales agreement just with you, because you can get out of paying, because of your age. For similar reasons, you probably willnot be able to buy insurance on your own. The state will not allow you to title a vehicle in your name, until you're emancipated. As for getting on your friend's grandmother's policy, it is not unlawful. But, I suspect that some insurers still not agree to it.

Good luck
