Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

Is an attorney required to sue a contractor in missouri? The person I am speaking of put siding on my steel frame house a year ago after a tornado and started coming off after a mild storm. He said he would fix it but didn't show up and won't take my calls anymore. I have all of my paperwork that states that it was all screwed on which is necessary on a steel frame house. I have pictures showing that it is nailed on and the damage to our home. Thanks for your help.

No, a person can represent himself or herself in court. And, if your damages are $3000 or less, you could sue the contractor in small claims court. If your damages are more than that it might be better to hire an attorney. Good luck.
