Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

a bank that i have a balloon mortgage thru placed a large fee on my account for a modification. i have been calling somewhat upset about the fee and asking what it was about. my last attempt to find an answer led the lady who i was discussing the matter with sending me a large envelope "showing" me all the work they had done on the modification. basically, it was a copy of the original loan and 6 pages that comprised the modification. what was more surprising was that there were sections of this modification asking for my signature. two forged signatures are on this document along with a public notary's signature stating that i had appeared before them and signed these docs. the fee was 500 but now i am just really angry about the matter.

You may be able to sue the bank and its employees for fraud, in civil court. But, you will nto get much if anyth9ing in damges. You can and shouydl reprot the forgeries to the Attorney Genral's office and let teh Us Attorney for yoru area know about this. The Obama administration is at least pretending to care about borrowers getting cheated. One prosecutor or the other may investigate the bank and the notary. The bank may never know that it was you that turned them in.

Good luck
