Breakin a lease question

After a year of complaining to management about an upstairs tenet being so loud in the middle of the night and nothing being done about it, I gave them my notice the 1st of August and told them I would be out by the end of the month. They said they would sue me for the rest of the year.The lease was up 1st of June. I didn't sign another lease, they said it was automatic for another year. I have always paid my rent on time, never late. There is a 60 day notice, but I can't live like this for another two months! I have had alot of people over who have heard this noise,still they do nothing about it. Should I get legal council?HELP!!

Yes,it appears that you should hire an attorney to assist you. the landlord has a duty to provide you with a "habitable" (livable) place to live, and from your post it seems that the landlord is in breach of the lease. An attorney may be able to write the landlord a letter on your behalf which would serve to resolve everything without the need for a lawsuit.
