Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

Confused

Me and my exgirlfriend have owned a parcel of rental land together since 1994 my ex went to jail signed a property bond and told the bondsman that I died and left her my half of the property. The bondsman has collected all the rent monies on the property for the past 14 Mo. he told me that I am his partner and said that he would send me half the rent. this has not happened and he recently told me that he does not owe me any rent. I went to the courthouse got a copy of the deed of trust me and my ex are still the owners on the deed however the bondsman insists that he is my coowner because my ex signed a quit claim deed. who is the true owner of a peice of property.

It sounds like you and the bondsman are partners, and you have a case to collect half of the rent he has collected. You may also go directly to the tenants and explain the situation to them and have them pay the rent to you now, so you ccan distribute half to the bondsman (if he shows you a proper quit claim deed)
