What do cops gotta do to step foot on private property?

Generally, officers must push with the stationary foot and extend the moving foot, like everyone else. If you are asking what does an officer have to do to go into a private residence, then they must reasonably beleive that they have permisison, that comeon is in danger, or (in some cercumstances) that a crime is being committed and evidence is being destroyed. What happens when none of those are the case, depends on what the other person is trying to accomplish, i.e. get evidence suppressed or charges dismissed, prove tresspassing, etc.
