Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

easement or not?

I own a piece of property that has a gravel road that runs on one side of it to the back side of houses behind my property.

These houses have access to the front sides by city streets but only have off-street parking. Do i have the right to close this road since it is on my property or is it considered an easement even if they still have access to the houses?

The reason i want to close it is because there is a lot of traffic for only 3 houses (suspect drugs) and also a lot of trash is thrown out on my property.

Re: easement or not?

You can check with the recorder of deeds to see if anyone has recorded an easement. If not, I would presume you could close a private road on your property. (This assumes that this was never a public road.)
