Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

Elders transfer of property.

I have a mother who is 76, she owns outright her residence in Kansas City, MO. She is worried that if she were put in a assistance living center, her assets would be to high with the house. She has inquired as to putting the house in my name; (residing in Texas), this would elimate problems later. Where can I find on the internet a sample of the forms which would transfer the ownership to me that I can copy or please send a copy of the proper forms, I would think it wouldn't be a lenghtly form?

Thanks, in advance.

Re: Elders transfer of property.

You have two issues here. First, if she is attempting to claim Medicaid eligibility, then you need to be careful about how she effectuates the transfer--you should check with a Medicaid specialist. Second, since the real property is located outside of Texas, I cannot advise you on the appropriate paperwork to accomplish the objective of deeding the property over to you. You will need an attorney in MO to handle that.
