Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

My father is in a nursing home, for which he is paying. I was given power of attorney to handle his finances. He would like me to have our family home. I would like to move in and sell my home . My 2 siblings are fine with this.

But since my father is in nursing home , I don't know if I can legally do this or what I should do.

It is good that your siblings are in agreement, sometimes a rare day when children agree to anything. Considering you are acting under a power of attorney and are a related party, there are many issues that need to be considered in that regard. Additionally, and perhaps more importantly, are issues related to your father's current nursing home living arrangements; what impact selling the house to you will have on his current, or possible future, eligibility for medicaid nursing assistance, etc. I know it seems simple, but there are many issues that if not addressed properly can have disasterous consequences for you and your family. I know you have come to this site for a short and simple response, there simply is not way to offer that to you. I would be happy to discuss this matter via the phone initially and in person if needed. Have a great day.
